Regional Credit Union Coordinating Body,
Merapi Mulia Credit Union, Sleman District
Yogyakarta, Indonesia
Stephen DeMeulenaere was the Technical Advisor, working as the Asia Program Coordinator of the Strohalm Foundation for Integrated Economics to implement a Community-Development Voucher Currency System in the Credit Union to better serve their micro and small enterprise clients using this innovative microfinancial initiative.
The system received an honorable mention in the 2007 Unterguggenberger Prize competition in Austria for innovation in complementary currency system design and implementation. Information on this project can be found here.

Stephen DeMeulenaere provided Technical Advice and assistance to the organization in shifting its local economic development programs towards Community-Development Voucher Currency Systems to improve the availability of capital for micro and small enterprise incubation. Provincial Government of East New Britain,
Papua New Guinea
Stephen DeMeulenaere was the Lead Consultant to the project, working for Assai Architecture and Culture-Drive Projects in Sydney, Australia to conduct a field study and advise the Provincial Government on the standardization and mobilization of the Tabu traditional currency as a secondary currency for the payment of Provincial taxes in order to increase revenues.
Promotion of Popular Development (Promocion del Desarollo Popular),
Mexico City , Mexico
Stephen DeMeulenaere was the Project Coordinator, working with the Victoria International Development Education Association (VIDEA) and PdP, coordinating an international project team located in Japan, Sweden, America, Canada and Mexico to conduct a participatory research study of the Tianguis Tlaloc local currency system in Mexico City for the International Development Research Center (IDRC) in order to determine the beneficial impacts for local enterprise networks and production clusters using a network medium of exchange.

Dakar, Senegal
Stephen DeMeulenaere assisted the Doole Community Exchange System in Dakar, Senegal with system design and preparation of their proposal to the World Bank Development Marketplace, which reached the finals in 1999.
